Stina Jacket

Fjällräven Stina Jacket Reviews

The Fjallraven Women's Stina Jacket is a spunky way to stay dry through the gray, misty days that define Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. Cut to compliment your curves, this jacket combines two types of G-1000 fabric to fend off spits and drizzles. Lightweight poly-cotton ripstop on the body means the Stina stays supple and fairly silent for your inner-city walking. Rugged G-1000 Original serves to reinforce the shoulders on the off-chance you've got the weight of the world—or your luggage—on your back.
Backed up by an inner flap, the full-length front zipper won't serve as the means of entry for wind and water, and neither will the fixed hood and stand-up collar. Pre-shaped sleeves won't fight your excited arm gestures. When conditions are beyond crappy, batten down the hatches by snugging the hem adjustment and buttoning the cuffs. Cram your hands into the two pockets and rush to find shelter in the nearest coffee shop.

Cute, impractical

I’m obsessed with how flattering this jacket is. That’s 100% why I bought it. It seems quite durable and while I haven’t worn it in inclement weather, I feel confident it would protect me on a shorter hike. I wouldn’t grab it below 60 degrees, or if weather called for heavy rain though. It’s more of an “autumn Instagram” jacket.

My main issue is how small it runs in the chest and arms. It fits comfortably elsewhere, including the hips which is the typical downfall of women’s jackets. Because they’re made by men. This one squishes my boobs a bit and I don’t have full punching range. That may sound ridiculous, but it’s tight in the shoulders when I bend down to tie my shoes. A size up was the same, but looked frumpy...so these are made for small chested, non broad shouldered girls.

I have it in burnt orange though and I seriously love the color and fit (when standing still) enough that I do grab it for car rides. Definitely not long hikes.

Oh, and the hood is actually decent which is another issue many coats have. It’s not packable either- pretty heavy.
