Brilliant Accessory for the FirePit
I got my FireMat as part of the ultimate FirePit package. To be honest it was sort of an impulse purchase to upgrade my FirePit to that package, but I haven’t regretted it for a moment. We drag our FirePit all over Ireland and the FireMat has meant that we can set up a fire/BBQ almost anywhere. Wooden picnic table? No problem! The insulation keeps the heat away and your fire safe. One of my favourite tricks is putting the FireMat down on my 4WD truck tailgate. I can then cook standing up and absolutely zero heat damage occurs to my truck bed poly liner. This is a great add on to the FirePit and it comes in a cool wee bag that you can sling into your stuff with ease. It’s a cinch to clean and carry and worth every single penny!
Hydro Flask 40 oz Wide Mouth Insulated Water Bottle
What’s not to love?
Man, I love Hydro Flask water bottles. I used to have a glass water bottle that looked cool, but broke faster than you can say, ‘Sheesh, I’m parched!’ I ran across these on an adventure in San Diego last year and couldn’t resist them. They’re seemingly indestructible as I’ve dropped mine on pretty much every surface you can imagine. The wee dents just add character in my option. On my 40 oz I have the flip up straw which also works a treat and is a cinch to cut yourself and install. Liquids hold their temp for an unusually long time as well. So if you load this up with some ice and water, you’ll find that ice hangs around for nearly 48 hours! Just outstanding. Also, another cool tip is to get the rubber bottom accessory. It’s quiet in a meeting as you clatter it on the table and if you go with the grey one like me, that little rubber boot makes my water bottle look like a wee 1970’s scuba tank!
Nike Cortez Basic Leather OG
The greatest shoe of all time.
When I was in Middle School, this super cool kid came in one day wearing these shoes that clearly communicated super hero power. In an awed voice, I asked him, “What are those?!?!!” He replied “Nike Cortez brother, Nike Cortez.” Since that day, these shoes, in all their glory have been my pinnacle footwear. I owned a pair of the original leather ones in white with that iconic red swoosh when I was a kid and I swear, I felt like I could fly when I had them on. Nowadays, I wear the nylon classics in black, but you can order a Nike iD pair and customise to your heart’s content. I sometimes fear Nike will discontinue them and the cold sweat that ensues is unpleasant. They’re not super expensive, they go with EVERYTHING, and you will experience a new level of success in all you do when you put these bad boys on your feet. Run, don’t walk, down to the store and get yourself a pair... once they’re on, you’ll never walk again... instead you’ll glide on your superhero shoes to your next adventure! Nike Cortez for President!
