My name is Chef Corso and I started MONTyBOCA to get folks excited about their camp meals, rather than dread the dry, salty, expensive packaged options. We trail-test and create fast, easy, tasty recipes that use fresh ingredients and cook up in less than 30 min. Elevate your meals.
Osprey Atmos AG 65 Backpack
I took this pack on a solo hike through the Olympic National Park this summer and it was a champ. Comfortable back support and waist belts made the trip a breeze. I also like that the connecting straps were more thought through than other brands. Made it easier to secure gear. As always, make sure you are getting the right size for your body and really understand how much volume you will be taking (45/55/65/75+).
Patagonia Black Hole Duffel 60L
Amazing, Durable Duffel
Whatever size of Black Hole Duffel you get, it will work great. I've taken my 70L on long weekend car camping or airline trips. Fits what you need, durable construction for in and out of cars or through security. Back pack straps are comfortable for some urban-hikes and easy transport. I've had this bag for multiple years and it's going strong.
MSR Windburner Stove System
Great Compact Stove Option
This is a great compact all in one stove option. MSR windburner and reactor burners are some of the best on the market for fast heating, efficient use of gas and integrated stove design. Really helps in windy conditions and protecting against tipping over your pot and meal. The only draw back is that food can stick pretty easily if you are cooking rather than just boiling. Highly recommend this over a pocket rocket for how compact everything is and more efficient cooking/boiling.
A.G. Russell Folding Cook's Knife
Best Campy Chefs Knife
I use this knife for all my outdoor cooking. The best part is that it's foldable. Love it compared to other camp chefs knives as most have a guard or sheath that's needed to protect the blade. Also a nice alternative to just a multi-tool knife which can get challenging for chopping.
