I am passionate about being outdoors and helping empower those who aren't well represented on the trails. As a fat woman who identifies as one of the letters in LBGTQ I often feel the need to shrink myself to make space for others in the "real world". Hiking and backpacking have helped me realize that I deserve to take up my space and shouldn't feel ashamed to do so. My outdoor acomplishments empower me to bring the fierocity with which I approach the mountains into my everyday life.
Big Agnes Air Core Ultra Sleeping Pad
I have this in the wide version and I love it. It's easy to I flare and deflate. It has the perfect cushioning for side sleepers. I'm a hefty person at 230 lbs and my hips never hit the ground in this. the wide is perfect for tossing and turning.
Salomon X Ultra 3 Mid GTX Hiking Boots
Perfect for my feet
I've tried many hiking boots. I have joint issues from various injuries and surgeries and so far these are the only boots that don't make my feet and ankles hurt. The toe box is wide and I've never had toenail issues with these.
