I’m an active camper, hiker, runner and cyclist. I'm happiest when I'm outside, doing all the outdoorsy things! I’m also Mom to a 21-month old spitfire, so I’m learning how to enjoy wild spaces with a toddler in tow – figuring it out as we go, while striving to nurture the flame of lifelong nature love in my young daughter.

Fun and versatile gravel bike
I chose this bike 3 years ago primarily for the versatility a gravel grinder has to offer. The corner of Southwestern Ontario where I live is covered in a patchwork of scenic country roads; some paved but many of them gravel. I didn’t want to be restricted in where I could ride, and this bike has not disappointed! It’s snappy and quick on smooth pavement, but still comfortable and handles well on loose gravel, stone dust trails and even less technical single track. I've also ridden it on a two-week cycle touring trip across Ontario and Quebec; it was a comfortable ride, despite not being designed for touring. I highly recommend this bike for anyone who wants to road ride without being pavement bound!
Keen Targhee II Mid Waterproof Boot - Women's
Good boot for rocky terrain
These boots are comfortable, supportive and waterproof – everything you want in a hiking boot. I’ve worn my Keens on multi-day backpacking trips through steep and rocky terrain, and on lots of shorter day trips. They’re great value for the price.
The North Face Stormbreak 3 Tent
Great design, super reliable product!
The design of this tent makes for a quick and easy setup. I’ve used it for short backpacking trips, cycle touring and canoe tripping. After 4 years of light/moderate use it’s showing next to no wear. It’s kept my family dry and cozy in flash thunderstorms with heavy rain and high winds. It’s a comfortable fit for two adults, 1 toddler and our packs. Having two doors and vestibules is a great feature, especially when nature calls in the middle of the night!
