I'm a student from Austria who loves hiking and is out for adventure and camping whenever it's possible! Im dreaming of long distance trails so I'm hitting at least one per year!
Osprey Aura AG 65 L Backpack
My second osprey aura AG
I love the backpack! It has so many pockets to organise your pack out there in the wild and it's so easy to carry, even when you're going with a heavy weight over 10kg. The hipbelts are suiting me very well and they have small pockets which is also super nice to keep some small stuff (mobile phone, etc) when it rains, you can put the rain cover on to make it waterproof. I have been hiking in the swedish fjäll, where it's really moist and raining quite much. After a full day of rain ( with having the rain cover on) my stuff inside got a little bit wet. This happens with every backpack that isn't made from a waterproof fabric, but you have to know that when it's heavy rain the whole day, you need drypacks inside to keep your stuff dry. This is not meant as criticism, more like a piece of advice for those, who are planning to hike in very moist areas (who actually likes that?!) Apart from that, the pack starts to "squeek" after a while. I sent my first Aura AG back to osprey because I was annoyed by that squeeking sound and they sent me a completely new one after a few days. So the service is super fast!! But I have to say, my second packs has a light squeeking as well... To conclude: I love my pack! I love the design, I love the size, I love the antigravity system. That's what counts for me. You can get this backpack for a very good price and that's the point. If you want something better than this, you HAVE to spend more money. The price is absolutely fine for what you get. I'm planning to get something with a waterproof fabric next, but that's going to be a little bit "extra". This pack has been on many trips with me, in the woods or in the city, and I can just recommend it! :)
NEMO Hornet 2P Tent
Super light and super view!!
My very first "good" backpacking tent. I have had 3 others before until I thought "you should spend a little more money for something that is your home for the nights out there in the mountains." And so I did, and don't regret anything! Thus tent is set up in 5 minutes or less (not kidding). It weights only 800 grams (that is literally less than my full bottle of water) It has a cool design and 2 exits on both sides (important if you're going with someone else, you don't have to climb above your sleeping mate) So far it has been waterproof (not tested in super heavy rain though) What I love is the starlight window! The tent has some black mesh on the upper side, and when it's dark outside you can completely see through as if it wasn't there! Falling asleep while seeing millions of stars is the best thing ever!!! Because of that I rarely use the raincover. But if you need it, you can put it on in 2 minutes. I personally use it as a 1 person tent and pull my backpack inside. Have used it a few times as a 2 person tent and that works completely fine as well! Yeah, I love this tent, 10/10 would recommend!
Patagonia Lightweight Synchilla Snap-T Pullover - Women's
My favourite pullover ever!
I bought it first of all because I love the brand Patagonia and their approach to produce sustainable clothing which is good for the planet! But beyond this, the synchilla snap pullover is super warm and cozy and I love the old school look! If you're looking for a long lasting ultra light fleece pullover, that has been produced with responsibility to the planet - this is definitely your choice. For me as a student, I considered the price to be quite high. But I wear it everyday, on the mountains or also to university. And I have never regret buying it, it got my favourite item in the whole wardrobe!
Thermarest NeoAir XLite Sleeping Pad
Nest sleeping pad if you're looking for an ultralight one!
I had a few sleeping pads so far and this is by far the best one (but also the most expensive one). It's super light weight and packs SO small! Also it's very comfortable for a sleeping pad. But it makes some squeeking noises when you move in your sleep which can be quite loud sometimes. I have not tried in very cold nights (below 7°C) so I cannot rely tell about the isolation right now. I would recommend this sleeping pad for everyone who wants to save some weight and space when packing! It's a little bit more expensive than other pads from therm a rest but also very comfortable.
