Echo Carbon XL 7'3" 2WT Fly Rod My Review

Great Alpine Lake Rod

Great rod to strap to your pack and bring with you on your hike to the high country. Broke the tip on ome outing and was able to get a replacement for relatively cheap from Echo. This is a great addition to my rod quiver!

Marmot Trestles 0 Sleeping Bag

Marmot Trestles 0 Sleeping Bag My Review

Great cold weather bag

I use this bag year round because it gets cold at night in the Canadian Rockies, even in the summer. I recommend getting a new compression sack for it as the one it comes with is'nt great. If it feels too warm just unzip the side to let some air in. Phone pocket is great for phone or headlamp!

Black Diamond Mission 55 Backpack

Black Diamond Mission 55 Backpack My Review

Great pack for backcountry camping

Great backpack that is comfortable, the swing system is great! Wish it had a waterbottle pocket on the side, but not the biggest problem. Love the side zippee for access to the stuff further down in your pack. Used this pack for everything from backcountry to backpacking Indonesia.

Klymit Static V2 Sleeping Pad

Klymit Static V2 Sleeping Pad My Review

Lightweight and comfortable!

Takes up no room in my pack since it packs down so small. I am a side sleeper so don't wake up with sore hips anymore!

Dakine Heli Pro 20L Backpack

Dakine Heli Pro 20L Backpack My Review

Great slackcountry or resort pack

Great for cruisin the resort or for short tours off the ski resort. I would recommend a bigger pack for longer tours. There is no dedicated snow tools pocket but it fits everything you need. Very low profile so never bothers me on the chairlift. My girlfriend also bought one and loves it for her resort riding. Also doubles as a great fishing backpack in the summer for those hike in alpine lakes!

National Snowboard

National Snowboard My Review

Great all mountain board

Great resort board for carving groomers or scoring some powder. Performs well on jumps and can butter if you put a little more effort into it. Would highly recommend if you like the Capita DOA

Burton Fish Snowboard

Burton Fish Snowboard My Review

Effortless float

Rode this board heli skiing in the Kootenays in chest deep snow and couldn't believe how well it performed. Floated perfectly and was suprisingly agile for a 161cm. Liked it so much i picked one up for my go to powder board.

Marmot Tungsten 3P Tent

Marmot Tungsten 3P Tent My Review

Great tent for backpacking

Got the 3 person so my girlfriend and i are comfortable and so it can hopefully accommodate a dog when we decide to get one. It isn't too heavy for backcountry but it very roomy inside. Fly is great and comes with a footprint so stayed very dry when it rained.

Keeps you dry

Keeps you dry when its coming down and fits in your pack nicely for hikes. Does not have pit zips so can get hot while hiking with it on.

Arc'teryx Atom AR Hoody - Men's My Review

Great layer

Great layer to wear under your riding jacket or to keep in your pack in case the temperature drops. Paired with a patagonia synchilla i was able to wear this to walk to work in -35°C in the winter. Crazy warm for how light it is.

Arc'teryx Atom LT Vest - Men's

Arc'teryx Atom LT Vest - Men's My Review

My favourite layer

Great mid layer for cold days at the hill or early morning hikes. Roll it up and put it in your pack and it takes up little room. Love this vest.

L GORE-TEX Jacket - Men's

L GORE-TEX Jacket - Men's My Review

Best Snowboard jacket

Great jacket with the best fit. Keeps you dry even in wet powder so you can keep on shredding. Not the warmest jacket but that's why you pair it with sime technical mid layers.

MSR Pocket Rocket 2 Stove

MSR Pocket Rocket 2 Stove My Review

Lightweight stove

Great stove for backcountry camping, its light and it works! Can be tough to use in the wind so bring something to block the wind.

Questions I've Answered

Taylor D.  Taylor D.: I'm really interested in purchasing this jacket but I've read some reviews that said it was not as waterproof as it is advertised to be. Have you worn this in the rain and how protective from the rain did you find it?
Graeme M.  Graeme M.: I have hiked in this rain jacket in a down pour and I was dry, other than my pants. This is the most waterproof jacket I own and always trust it to keep my dry. Since it is so waterproof the water usually runs down and soaks your pants but you can get some rain pants if you are worried about that. My only negative with this jacket is that it doesn't have pit zips, so you can get a little sweaty hiking in it.
