I get very cold during the night and this has kept me from having to layer myself with additional clothing when going to sleep. It comes with a compression bag to help fit it in your backpack and isn’t a lot of weight. This has kept me during rain and as well as sleeping next to glacial lakes!
I am not sure how I have been surviving without one of these things. Super easy to put together and boils water in an instant! If you are just boiling water for dehydrated meals, noodles, and/or coffee this is a life saver! I would not suggest trying to cook mac & cheese in one of these things since it is hard to control the temperature if you want things to constantly boil inside of the thermos. Strictly meant to instantly boil water.
I am 5’3” and going uphill isn’t as swift as someone with longer legs. I have been using the same poles for years and don’t go anywhere without them! It is easy to switch out the bottom of the poles for rubber stoppers or tips, depending on trail and weather conditions. These poles have saved me a ton from slipping from wet rocks as well as pot holing in deep snow.
There have been a lot of times when I exhaustingly come across a stream of water and am so thankful to have these on me. Instead of whipping out a water filtration system & having to pump water into a bag, I can easily swoop up flowing water into the bag, twist the cap back on, & do a few shakes to get clean water on the go! It also saves a lot of space since you can easily roll it up into your backpack.
I love my flash backpack on day hikes or on vacations! I believe there is enough compartments for water, extra clothes, food and other miscellaneous essentials. It is also easy to take on longer backpacking trips if you just need a day hiking bag since it can easily be folded/rolled in a backpack.
